After taking the 3 hour refresher course and the mandated 30 question State proctored Notary Public Exam on April 30th, I just received word today that I passed the test once again. Whew! While the California Notary Public exam isn’t exactly on the same level as the State Bar Exam or CPA test, it is a relief to be done with that part of the commission renewal process for another 4 years.

Often times, I’ll get a call from a client looking to get a few documents notarized who will ask where we can meet.

Because the basis of my business service is that I’m mobile and will travel, I suggest that I can meet them either at their home or office as long as they are within my ~20 mile travel radius. Because of the sensitive nature of many of the documents I notarize, the client may not want to have their documents notarized in the presence of friends, family or co-workers, so finding a neutral location to meet is sometimes important.

Congratulations! You’ve just opened that new Asian/Hawaiian fusion restaurant and you’re ready to apply for your State of California Liquor License so you can offer your guests wine, beer and mixed drinks.

The ABC (Alcohol Beverage Control) liquor license application process is a long and tedious one, with quite a few hurdles to jump through along the way.

The State of California will perform a number of background checks and require that you complete about 10 different forms. To start the process you’ll fill out the Application Questionnaire (Form ABC-217) and the Individual Personal Affidavit/Individual Financial Affidavit Form ABC-208A and ABC-208B. Upon completing both of these forms you’ll need to have your signature notarized by a practicing California Notary Public.

Many professional service businesses such as mortgage brokers, real estate agents, travel agents and financial services representatives require the use of a notary public when serving their clients, but don’t have the resources to keep a notary public on staff.

Because the notary performing the acknowledgement or jurat  may not benefit from the documents being notarized, the professional service provider is forbidden from acting as the notary public.

Over the years I’ve built a network of referral partners who often utilize my services when working with their clients. These are some of the best professionals in their field and I have personally used many of their services.

Bellow is a brief list of some of the most common requests I receive – if you have a specific request, feel free to call or email me any time.
